The importance of knowing a language must be communicated to students, parents and the entire community. Teachers are challenged to empower students by leading them to the successful acquisition of a second language in order to experience the richness and excitement of learning and understanding other cultures. Each year, National French Week and National Foreign Language Week are observed. Two language honor societies are in existence: the Julia de Burgos Chapter of the Spanish Honor Society and the Aimée Césaire Chapter of the French Honor Society. |
