What is Social Studies?

Social Studies is an integrated study of the Social Sciences.  It is taught from Kindergarten through the 12^th grade.  Social Studies within the Virgin Islands school system draws upon anthropology, archaeology, and political science.  It is comprised of economics, history, geography, psychology, sociology, civics, and government.

GOALS

The goal of the Social Studies program is to afford our students a platform where they are able to develop an understanding of democratic values and responsibilities for government.  Students will gain an appreciation of cultural diversity, an understanding of contemporary issues and an overview of history – local, national and international.
