Located southeast of Puerto Rico, within the Caribbean Sea, St. Croix is the largest of the United States Virgin Islands. The Lew Muckle Elementary School (LMES), named after Tyrone Lew Muckle,was built in 1970 on the ruins of a historic plantation in Estate Sion Farm. The campus sits on more than four acres and is comprised of ten buildings that were part of the original plantation built in the 1770s and three modules added in the 1990s.
